Panels are the BEST! With deep understanding of the whole person, you become less reactive and more accepting of others' gifts and challenges. With deep understanding of what others are thinking and feeling, you naturally become more tolerant and compassionate.
In the words of Helen Palmer, "Seeing and hearing a group of people express a similar point of view transmits far more of the power of the system then can possibly be conveyed by a mere written record of their words. After about an hour, a group of people who start out looking physically very different begin to seem the same. The viewer can sense similarities that are the more subtle signs of type. There is a unique feel to each of the types, a distinguishing quality. The room fills with a definite presence as the character unfolds.... The world looks very different to each of the nine, and experienced very differently."
Learning about others as they speak about their worldview is the best way to come to know the other types. The types come alive when you listen to people talk in their own words and tell stories about their strengths and challenges. Fascinating!
However, virtually all written descriptions, classes, and panels currently being conducted focus ONLY on type. Typically the "essence" of the type, the sacred aspects are left out of "type" conversations. But not in our panels! In our panel series, From Type to Essence, we explore the WHOLE of each Enneagram type as we travel the full spectrum from type to essence. And we have fun doing so!
