Would you like to have more relationships that are truly authentic, healthy, loving and fulfilling?

Nine Ways to Experience the Divine RETREAT Weekend

Having authentic relationships requires deep understanding of the whole of yourself and others....

Authentic people are aware of the full range of their abilities: they don’t apologize for their gifts nor hide their difficulties.

The Enneagram (9-sided figure) has become one of today's most popular systems for developing a deeper and more expanded understanding of self and others.

"Determining our type through the Enneagram does not put us in a box, but instead helps us see the box from which we view the world, " says Dr. David Daniels, MD, Stanford University, author of The Essential Enneagram.

Platinum Rule: Do unto others as they would like you to do unto them.
Consider adopting the Platinum Rule when you want to become more connected with the people in your life.

Most of the time, we try very hard to do unto others what we would want them to do unto us, aka the Golden Rule. But what if what they want is different from what you want -- or what you would want for them?

Applying the Platinum Rule enhances your relationships beyond belief -- you'll get amazing results! Recently, my husband burst out in a spontaneous and quite out of the ordinary "I love you!"  when I brought dinner to him so he could continue to watch Book TV, his favorite program, on the sofa. Generally, he doesn't like to have his private time interrupted by dinner (or anything else) and so he was quite moved when he realized that I wasn't going to insist on turning off the TV and coming to the table for dinner; rather I was 'bending the rules' for him because I knew how much he was 'into' his show.

Adopting the platinum rule requires finding out what the other person would truly like or prefer -- as well as developing a deep and abiding understanding of the WHOLE of the person, in type as well as in essence.

Wouldn't you love it if the people in your life adopted this rule with you?
Not easy!

The Enneagram provides you with a system for gaining the information & insights needed to apply this rule to the people in your life
.

In the Enneagram system, people are grouped based on core motivation--what is really important and what really matters to them.  When you study your Enneagram type, you develop more clarity about yourself, what is important to you, what comes naturally, and what truly matters to you.

Here's our Golden Rule ..

  • When learning about others….ask questions and simply listen to the response, without judgment, debate, or presenting your own or an alternative perspective.
  • When listening…allow others time to reflect and speak for themselves & refrain from describing them or telling them about their type.

ABOUT SANDY

Sandy Lundahl, MPH, MA, is a certified teacher of the Enneagram in the Narrative Tradition.
Sandy loves to teach and learn; she holds graduate degrees in public health and instructional systems design.  Since 1983 she has taught classes in all aspects of holistic health. Her approach is to teach what truly makes a difference in people's lives...in a positive & encouraging manner.

Sandy recalls....Initially, my type (#7) was not obvious to me. As I continued to read and take classes, my self-awareness grew. Now I have a deeper understanding of myself, my strengths, core motivation, and where I get into trouble with myself and others. Taking on new practices, informed by the Enneagram, is helping me become less reactive , more successful with the people in my life, and to become a more whole and mature human being.

The study of the Enneagram is not a religion nor does it interfere with one’s religious orientation.  It concerns itself with one element that is fundamental to all spiritual paths -- and that is self-awareness.
